Pat Bruderer (Half Moon Woman) represents the preservation of one of the rarest and most threatened indigenous art forms in the America’s today, taken to a level of articulation and complexity not often previously witnessed; the art is called……. ‘Birch Bark Bitings’ also called “Birch Bark Transparencies”.
Pat “Half Moon Women”, is one of the few current practitioners of the ancient First Nations art of Birch Bark Biting. Being born in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada of Cree ancestry, a mother of five children, and currently living in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
